Offering discreet rooftop access, the low profile and modest dimensions allowed this skybox to blend in with the rest of the roofline, without compromising the historical architecture of the building.

One of the main considerations when choosing a Skybox skylight is how you are going to get it to the roof.  In most instances a crane is required, if you contact Glazing Vision we can put you in contact with a crane company that can come and asses the requirements.

Another consideration is whether the Skybox will be seen from the street, this can effect getting approval from planners.  Dixon projects worked hard to get the Skybox approved for use throughout New York and New Jersey.  They wanted all of their properties to have roof terraces and were looking for a sleek solutions for their houses.

Finally when choosing a Skybox you need to decide whether you want some sort of solar control on the glass, due to the amount of glass it can get quite a lot of heat gain.  Either that or you could request a temperature sensor so the Skybox opens for ventilation when it gets hot.

The skybox has landmarks approval which assists in gaining planning consent.

All sliding skylights need maintaining yearly, the details of this can be found in the operations and maintenance manuals under the technical area of the website.

New Jersey, particularly Jersey City has so much ongoing development and is a great area to live and visit, the views over the Hudson river are breath taking.  There is no better place to watch New Years fireworks than over the river!  Hoboken is a young and vibrant place, the birthplace of Frank Sinatra no less as well as the original home of the Cake Boss.

Jon Shooter “Whenever I visit New York I stay in Jersey City, its so easy to jump on the PATH and get to 32nd street or the World Trade Centre.  I love to run by the Hudson in the morning and grab a great breakfast at the Turning Point”
